The ‘Y’ Experience
the question is, why?
i am happy to announce that after many requests, stillmotion is hosting an education experience for professional photographers (yay! we’re doing a photo workshop! ….so excited).
the workshop will be held over two days this october, on the 13th and 14th (so bring a sweater).
photographers will leave the workshop with a better understanding of:
-lighting, lens choice: both the technical aspects and the emotive aspects
-ambiance, environment, and attitude, and how they contribute to happier couples and a stronger business
-storytelling, post processing, and album design, and how they allow you to create synergy
the workshop will also include:
-an optional portfolio review on october 12th
-a photography shootout where we can put new ideas to the test
-a (possible) section on fusion on october 15th at an extra cost (please let us know if you are interested)
we are also honoured to have justin demers of because j’m come as a guest speaker. justin and his wife michelle own a thoughtful and truly unique photography studio in Toronto. We have shot together and been friends for years, and during our friendship have learned from each other on a continual basis. this is the kind of relationship that i hope you can foster with us, and with the photographers that come in october.
workshop summary:
october 12th evening – portfolio review / meet & greet
october 13th and 14th – the meat of the workshop
october 15th – fusion day (to be confirmed)
we’ll be asking $1700 per person for the portfolio review and the “meat” (the 12th, 13th, and 14th). we are limiting attendance to 9 photographers, much like we limit the number of couples we work with every year, so that we can provide better attention and a better experience overall.
we are considering adding a fusion day which will be about 5 hours on the 15th and will be an additional cost for those who decide to stay. we would discuss how to add photo or cinema, the unique fusion demographic, and working with the MKII both in shooting and post. please let us know if your interested and we’ll compile some more info.

I’m so looking forward to the Stillmotion experience here in Aus in Feb…..but its also awesome to see you are offering insight and teachings into Stillmotion’s world of Photography too. You guys aren’t just amazing artists, you are an amazing TEAM of artists….and that’s something I will be a part of some day soon :)

That’s awesome, I’d love to attend this. The only problem is, it’s in the middle of the week! October is normally a slow month for weddings, it’s too bad this wasn’t planned for a weekend. Hopefully next year I can attend.

Hi, i’m from Brazil. I have a camera SONY FX1000 HDV with CMOS. I have serious problems with rolling shutter because the CMOS, in special cases, like photo session. What kind of camera do you use? Dont’ you have problems of rolling shutter??? I dont see it in your videos.Thank you. Your videos are wonderfull.
