raj carolyn // from catholic to hindu

here i go getting all philosophical again… please bear with me for just a sec.

i love love love it when a wedding film is less about the wedding and so much more about the couple, who they are, and what the whole event represents. that message can easily get lost. what is so touching about raj and caorlyn’s film, for me, is how it brought together two cultures that openly participated in everything that the weekend had to give.  at first glance, a catholic and hindu wedding appear so very different, but perhaps on some levels they really aren’t.

be prepared, this edit is quite different from what i normally do. if you’ve seen raj and carolyn’s same day edit, this a much more developed take on their day.

  • i couldnt stop the tears from filling my eyes :$ this was really beautifully captured. the entire concept of showing how even though they seem to be two totally different cultures and that they’re actually kinda the same on some levels – you really told the story and captured it beautifully (wait, i said that already :P)

  • Patrick, you did it again. You stunned me with your amazing talent as an editor and storyteller. Having watched the SDE so many times, I thought I had “figure” this couple out and got a feel for their wedding day. However, what you shared here is so, so, so much more. I absolutely love the way you intertwine their stories, cultures, personalities, chemistries (those tiny kisses, “wow, you loook, wow”, glimpses during the ceremony, etc.). In combination with the music, this is one of the most exciting videos I’ve seen… EVER.

  • well, i feel like not only do i know this couple a bit better since the sde, but i know you a bit better too, patrick. it was so cool to see another style come out of you. the quick cutting in the dance segments sent chills down my spine. you are a great storyteller, but also can convey the story on so many levels. awesome edit!

  • I should know better….I watch your videos in the morning for a reason! Now I have a terrible mascara mess because I decided to sneak a quick video on this fine afternoon:) This one was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I can’t imagine the time spend creating, quite possibly, the most amazing testimony to this couple’s incredible love story! Two cultures, two personalities, one love in a beautiful couple. This video takes my breathe away and it left me on a high of excitement and contentment. The trailer leaves me wanting more to what appears to be one of the up and coming fantastic movies of the year. Incredible job to all of you! K
