a trip to blue mountain
it has been quite rainy since landing down under. that means the camera has spent much more time packed away than it would have preferred. with the rain not letting up for one more day, my last resort was to just start shooting in full out rain.
now, i should say that the camera manual does say that the MKIV is ‘weather resistant’. as i left the camera sitting on a ledge, water pouring down, amina started wondering exactly how canon defines resistant…
turns out it handled the rain quite well and amina and i spent valentines day shooting from atop a cliff together.
you can see amina’s perspective on her blog. the soundtrack here was also used with etiquette ($5 placed on the red mat).

wow! that was awesome patrick!
haha….I pretend my 5DII has weather proofing….and it still works :)
yep, we work our gear hard :)
the timelapse was shot in video mode. the clouds were moving quite well and i love how fluid it feels in video mode. i find stills are better for much slower motion.

I went on the withetiquette site to try and license that music and couldn’t find it! :-)
I don’t think if I owned a mkiv I would leave it out in the pouring rain like that, even if it is “weather resistant.” Looks awesome though… was the timelapse shot in video mode or with a timer?
That poor camera haha…amazing video!
