serena
liang. a story of destiny // an sm sde
serena and liang are two wonderfully matched people. they complete each others sentences, they work together as dentists in their own practice, and they do just about everything together.
when most couples would exchange gifts on the wedding day, they created them together in the same room. a mixed CD they filled with songs that meant something throughout their relationship. for their first meeting, liang brought the surprises, and serena helped with directions (which is often the case with these two).
as models for our evo australia one and two, we got to spend so much time with both of them and it was such a treat to get to know them both so personally before the big day. having them be around for so much of the workshop also gave them a completely different insight into what we do and the process behind it and from what we’ve heard, that also brought a whole new level of meaning to their film.
amina will be sharing her story of their day shortly.
the soundtrack is ‘i want to belong to you’, used with permission from katie herzig.

I love the scenery on this video… GREAT COLOR, GREAT COMPOSITION, GREAT SUN-SET, JUST UNBELIEVABLE… LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS ONE! I love the one when you shot from the car giving shot of the sky with the building, etc. I got the feelings! Serena & Liang should be very overwhelmed with the shot! AWESOME JOB P.M.

Hey guys…do you use the steadicam in the car? The mobile shots looked very smooth.
It was such a beautiful and amazing day, everything was like a fairy tale and with this video it just made it so prefect as the finishing touch for that night. Thank you Still Motion for recording this special moment for Serena and Liangs on their special day. All their friends have been watching this video around the world to share their special moment and see their joy and happiness. Thank you!
we could have stayed a good extra couple weeks just to meet people and check out australia. it was a shame we had so little time.
P.
thank you for commenting. serena + liang certainly have a very unique path they took to get here (you should hear their engagement story.

Beautiful couple and beautiful work!!
Are you planning on doing any more work here in Australia? I’d be very interested if you are.
It was an awesome awesome awesome experience to shoot with the famous amazing ass-kicking funky and down-to-earth still motion team… I feel so lucky to witness how they captured HONEST stories of Serena and Liang. Thank you for having us and teaching us so much.
One of my biggest regret was not seeing patrick editing the SDE since he was already finished when came in the reception at around 6.30/7pm… we were scheduled to showtime at around 8.30pm…
did I say amazing?
Thank you guys!!!!!
Santo
wow. you need a love button for me a to click several times.
GOD just when I thought you guys have done everything! The narrative on this piece is awesome! What an amazing memory they’ll have to cherish. Love the reveal @ 2:43. His last line, I feel, is how I think everyone is watching Stillmotion…

[...] One of the highlights for myself was the having opportunity to work with the Still Motion team of Patrick and co at the wedding of Serena and Liang. Patrick put together this amazing Same-Day-Edit http://stillmotionblog.com/2010/02/25/serena-liang-a-story-of-destiny-an-sm-sde/ [...]
so good it makes me want to give up and try something else like bricklaying.
Fantastic work and incredibly inspiring. I love to switch in timeline and how it still felt complete.
It was such a privilege to be there on the day to work with Konrad and Yourself (and a bonus to contribute a few shots to the SDE :) ).
It was great meeting Serena + Liang – they’re an awesome couple. What might be lost on some viewers who don’t know the couple is just how personal this film is. There are so many ‘easter eggs’ throughout the whole clip that will carry so much meaning to Serena + Liang.
Awesome job guys. Congrats to Serena + Liang – and thanks again to SM for everything you brought Down Under!
ray. i totally agree. what a cool surprise for the first meeting. they even got an extra for us :)
giovanna. that one took great restraint. i saw the shot and had to wait for her to start heading down the aisle, the problem was the rest of the crew was right around the corner so i only had one chance or i would have them in the background.
matt and JP. glad you guys could check it out, and i love hearing comments on the story right after the workshop :)
brett. thanks for the love.
Well done guys..sensational :)
regards
JP
What a fantastic story… so well told.
Incredible stuff. The today/day before mix – what a great way to structure a beautiful piece. :)
this made me smile so much!!!
Beautiful couple….that drop shot down to her waiting in the wlkway is killer. It’s like butter:)
Beautiful!!
pizza! serena and liang rock :) thanks for sharing.
Wicked!
