Wow. I cry. Thank you it’s a beautiful privilege to tell the couples story of their day, and you guys do an amazing job. Thank you for sharing your tips.

Any further info on the Boston session on Oct 6th/7th?? I’m almost peeing my pants in excited anticipation.

      hey tom,

all the info is at eventcinemaworkshops.com and we are open for registration. is there anything else i can help you with?

hey braden – john was mic’d during the morning so that allowed us to capture clean audio which we sync up in post.

is all the audio coming from the rhode mics? At 5:36 when the groom says “thank you very much”, the audio is so perfect, but the camera isn’t that close to him. All of your audio sounds so good. thanks for the tutorial!

Joachim – we are able to cut and edit h.264 files without any problems. it only becomes an issue after you start adding filters and color corrections to the footage.

peep – we roughcut the native h.264 files first and only transcode the footage already in our timeline. for the sake of an SDE or any film that requires quick turnaround time, sending the timeline directly to compressor is a lot quicker than transcoding all your footage at once.

you should try to send your timeline directly into compressor and exporting with dvd best quality 90 mins. see if that helps.

This is somnething I struggle with. No so much having the mini-story ideas, but having them in small enough pieces and capturing that. So far I have not often been in situations where the action was predictable. I’m getting better, and faster, but not fast enough to my impatient little brain and heart! I think “de-construct” has to be my mantra…or maybe, “de-construct even *more*”.

Thanks as always to lal of you for the incisive tips, packed full of illustrations.

Thanks guys for putting it together… :) We are getting more and more SDEs and these tips help :)

Digging the 561 table legs – so funny – I’ll go back to watching the rest of the tutorial now :-)

I’ve been a long time reader but haven’t commented before, but these new learning videos are immensely helpful and very well presented. Thanks for all the inspiration, insight, and help as always.

    Hey guys,

Just wondering about the speed of editing.

do you also transcode this footage ? because fcp is pig with H.264 codecs, do you use premiere pro sometimes ?

    danang pepe - motion addict

    HI P,
correct me if im wrong. You guys transfer it from native h264 into apple pro res 422 LT using compressor, than edit it. why you choose compressor than MPEG streamclip or log and transfer in FCP it self?

i have another problem. After i edit it and than export whole movie into Mov (apple pro res 422 LT 1920×1080 25p – i have already make all my footage & my project setting like this) using export quicktime movie in FCP, than i compres it into dvd with compressor (dvd best quality 90 min), and make dvd with dvd studio pro, why my clip always seem like something strange. Sometime like the quality is low, like interlace frame. Can you help me to solve my problem?

    Thanks,

    Pepe
