a very touching story of adoption from Kelly boy, Kelly girl, + Posey. we were invited to come into their home and tell this story right before Candice, the birth mother, was set to leave town after Chapel was born. Kelly girl first shared her very powerful story with us to see what we thought and if there was a story there. we were really drawn in by the idea of being able to get involved with such an intimate and personal process that includes some pretty remarkable paths crossing. Joyce started out by calling all of the parties involved, getting an idea of their role and seeing if they would be willing to share their take on camera.
we ended up spending two days with the Kelly’s and it was definitely an experience that left quite an impression on everybody involved. this film was commissioned by the Kelly’s so that Chapel would know her story and so that they could share their story with so many others who might be struggling with the many different aspects of adoption.

Wow! Great work on this and such an amazing story!!! Amazing! Well done! Congrats to the new family.
wow. i am absolutely speechless. the story is so heartfelt and touching. being a new mom to my little girl, made this piece so personal and brought me back to those emotions. patrick and team, what an amazing job in capturing and telling their story!
patrick, where you guys there when Chapel was born? Were those your images?
it’s been awhile since i’ve been on your blog and what an incredible welcome this was.
wow. that was AMAZING!!!!
I can’t really express with words what this video means to me.
Thank you guys for sharing this story.
Wow~ As a mother to 3 adopted children, this story was so near and dear to my heart. Our second adoption was very similar to the Kelly’s. How awesome to have captured the memory so real and raw. It will be a blessing to Chapel as she grows and understands the unique and amazing way that God took care of her.
Thank you for sharing their story in such a beautiful way. I am sure that it will touch the lives of many adoptive families.
The story alone is inspiring and beautiful…but today your work touched me in a different way. It left me dreaming and yearning! I started my first video diary today of my healing journey because I want to feel like I am doing…no matter how small. But what I am dreaming about is having my story told:) I know that you guys are connected to my life closely through Mindcastle, my dearest friend Amy Seeley, and even Justin and I being paired up at Jesh Derox’s workshop…but what I can’t clearly see yet, is the why. I have been inspired by your passion for years through your work. Now maybe it’s time to share my inspiration with you guys through telling my story. I would love to process this more with you guys…and I would like to say thank you!!! Thank you for sharing your bliss in my life to keep me dreaming with stories like these:) Kathy
This is one of the MOST touching stories I have seen. My goodness not only is the story amazing, what you did with the video creates the story into picture. Bravo on this…and I’m still speechless on the story. This depicts MANY actions of God’s hand at work. I will share with this everyone I know via every social media circle I have. Not only is this fantastic, but I think this will possibly open the eyes of many who think abortion is an option. Oh I’m speechless. Fantastic.
Such a beautiful film!
Wow. We’re just all at the office watching this, and in the first minute, we’re just commenting on the incredible shots… the other 17 minutes, we got so caught up in the story. This is incredible.
God at work!!! Amazingly put together!! So beautiful!!
powerful piece
Guys, wow. This story is pretty emotional. So many powerful moments throughout – I can only imagine what Chapel will feel as she grows up and watches her story. How awesome is that! I have to ask – a few shots seemed to have a huge range in them. Am I crazy or is there some Red (or a lot of) footage in there? The subtle camera shake movement in the interviews makes those moments feel more real and brings the dialogue out (not knowing what’s next).
