big shorts feedback

over the last week, we’ve been working away diligently on creating feedback for the films that were submitted for the Big Shorts challenge. our hope is that this feedback will help filmmakers see their pieces from a new perspective and give them inspiration to find new ways to improve their storytelling.

but we also hope that even those who may not have participated in the challenge can take something away with them too. so head on over to the Big Shorts Feedback page, click on any film, and open up its corresponding PDF feedback form to read our take on the piece. try watching the film first and write your own feedback too and see what you’re able to pick out, and then compare it to ours. do you agree? disagree? got additional thoughts you think will help?

we really want this to be an all-round educational experience for everyone who visits… so we suggest that you take whatever feedback you create and share it on the film-in-question’s Vimeo page in the comments section. that way we can get a number of discussions going about the different pieces and everyone can grow together!

where to start? first, go to bit.ly/big-shorts to access all the films and their feedback. then, it’s all up to you what you do with it! learn from it, use it to give back to the community, and most certainly enjoy!

Same ole Same ole

we’ve certainly grown as artists and storytellers from having watched your films and analyzed them for their strengths and weaknesses, and we’ve certainly become even more inspired. thank you for sharing such personal and unique pieces, and we can’t wait to see where everyone goes from here!

oh, and if you find the feedback and ensuing discussions to be valuable, pass the link on to other storytellers who may benefit from it as well: via Twitter / @stillmotion!

Thanks for the feedback, you pointed out a few oversights that I didn’t notice after watching the footage so many times!
